Being late

This is the first short film where I took part in creating. It lasts just 30 seconds but I think it's a good start for filming. This video has a man waiting for another man who is very late. After their meeting they both start arguing and in conclusion the person who waited decides to leave while the late person tries to stop him from leaving. At the moment it doesn't have a sound, I'll add it later.

Average Short Film Budget

Considering that the short film is obviously shorter than feature-length, the less locations take place, the less amount of actors involved, the production itself takes not so much time, so as a result the budget of these films will be way, way lower. Because my film is the Year 13 advanced portfolio, I am not going to have a budget and no one is going to be paid for production. However, while doing the filmmaking, we use the expensive equipment which is the digital camera, camera stand, microphone, sound recording. Of course with the rise of Internet everyone is able to create a unique project which doesn't have to cost money. Basically, everyone is able to film a short movie even on his or her phone. But I was talking about the film in which a large team is involved, something which is the work not only of one person (director/screenwriter) but also of everyone...

Music Copyright in Short Films

In the short films the music can play as important role as characters, setting, props etc. It sets a certain mood of the character so it is much easier for audience to understand his/her motifs. However each piece of music has an author who owns copyright protected by the law. It means that he/she is the only one to have the right for benefiting from the result of his intellectual activity and other people, as a general rule, can't use the work without his consent. In order to use the music of any artist or composer, it's important to sign a license agreement in which a permission is given to paste the artist's music into the film. How it happens, normally you go on the musician's main site in order to ask them about your project and why you want to paste the music you need. After that, maybe in a couple of days, the agency gives a permission. Talking about the price of copyright, everything depends on the certain artist, sometimes you have to pay money in order to ge...
