  The feminist theories can really work in noir films. For example we can have Laura Mulvey because we see that men are mostly the centre of the plot. While women in noir play mostly supporting role rather than main role. Also the appearance of women is always good-looking which sometimes makes them look like nothing but an object which is Van Zoonen theory. They sometimes act as weak while male characters are portrayed strong physically.

However if talking about films, some theorists are of opinion that patriarchal society hasn't vanished yet. Today's blog is about three main feminist theorists in movies. Laura Mulvey is a British feminist film theorist, author of idea in which women in the media are viewed from the eyes of heterosexual men. This idea is also known as ''Male Gaze Theory''. In this theory it's written that products assume the audience is male and presents women for their pleasure.  Representation can mean the showing of reality buy filmmaking and media. Sometimes that can be a useful to use it but sometimes not, it all depends on the way of representation. The representation may have a massive effect on a viewer. For example some of us have never been to New York, seen Hollywood celebrities, visited some beautiful tourist attractions etc. But with the help of representation we think that we already know everything about place or person. The keyword is ''think'' because representation doesn't give us the exact picture of reality, it just takes some parts of it.
